Glorious Mysteries
Intention: Serve God in joyful hope
1. The third day Jesus arose from the dead, defeating death and hell
2. Jesus descended into Limbo to liberate the awaiting Saints
3. Risen Jesus first shared His joy and triumph with his Blessed Mother
4. Jesus appeared to Magdalen, sending her to inform the Apostles
5. Peter and John ran to the tomb and found it empty, but for the shroud and head-cloth
6. Later Jesus appeared to Peter still grieving for his triple denial
7. At nightfall, Jesus came and stood amid his Apostles saying: Peace to you, it is I, do not be afraid
8. The disciples of Emmaus said: When He joined us on the road and explained the Scriptures, was not our heart burning?
9. Eight days later Jesus came again, inviting doubting Thomas to touch His wounds
10. Moved by such love from His Master and the bare truth before him, Thomas exclaimed: My Lord and My God!
2nd Mystery: Ascencion
Intention: Living with heaven in mind
1. Before going up to the Father, Jesus passed on His Powers and Mission to the Apostles, representing His Church
2. Go therefore, He said, to all nations, making disciples and baptizing them
3. You shall teach them all that I have commanded you
4. Jesus said: Those who believe and are baptized shall be saved.those who do not believe shall be condemned
5. Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit to assist the Apostles in their task
6. Jesus added: and see, I am with you until the end of the world
7. Then, they all saw Jesus ascending into heaven blessing them all
8. Jesus opened heaven to us and sits at the right hand of the Father
9. The wounds of the Son moved the Father to endless mercy on mankind
10. Jesus, our Mediator, desires that all men may be saved through Him
3rd Mystery: Descent of the Holy Spirit
Intention: Our duty to spread the Faith
1. After ten days Jesus sent the Holy Spirit, the Teacher of all truth
2. Mary, the Mother of the Church, was with the Apostles in prayerful expectation
3. The Holy Spirit manifested His coming by the rush of a strong wind and by tongues of fire
4. Filled with the Spirit, all started praising God in different tongues
5. In the Spirit, the Apostles were enlightened about their sublime call and duty to preach Salvation through Jesus, the Risen Lord
6. The Holy Spirit set them afire with love for God and men
7. They boldly told the outside crowds, The Jesus you crucified has risen from the dead, we all bear witness to that
8. Moved by this witnessing, repentant thousands believed in Jesus as The Saviour, asking to be baptized
9. O Holy Spirit, come also in our heart to help us change our wordly ways
10. Come Holy Spirit! Stir us into commitment to live and spread the faith
4th Mystery: The Assumption of Mary
Intention: Union with Jesus and Mary
1. Mary was taken up to heaven because God's Son became man from her flesh
2. God the Father lovingly received Mary into her heavenly glory
3. God the Son embraced His Mother as Co-Redemptrix
4. God the Holy Spirit welcomed the Virgin-Mother, the channel of all graces
5. The mighty Cherubim and Seraphim humbly paid homage to their Queen
6. The Angels and Saints surrounded Mary in triumphant jubilation
7. Mary, the sorrowful Mother of Calvary, is now sharing the glory of her Son
8. Mary is ever concerned for mankind redeemed by the blood of her Son
9. Being our Mother, she pleads for us with God , for mercy and salvation
10. All God's graces come to us through Mary, the Mother of our Saviour
5th Mystery: The Coronation of our Lady as Queen of Heaven and Earth
Intention: Final perseverance
1. Having entered heaven, Mary was gloriously crowned as Queen
2. Mary was crowned for her incomparable love of God
3. Mary was crowned for her angelic purity
4. Mary was crowned for her profound humility
5. Mary was crowned for her unreserved obedience
6. Mary was crowned for her saintly prudence
7. Mary was crowned for her devoted endurance
8. Mary was crowned for her boundless gratitude for all God's graces
9. Mary was crowned for her perseverance in all virtues
10. Mary was crowned above all Angels and Saints as becomes the Mother of God
